Arpegiah is the solo creative project of Romanian-born composer and musician Ciprian Tarta, based in Chicago.

The name Arpegiah originates from the musical term arpeggio, reimagined as a personal artistic identity. Arpegiah is not a band, but a creative platform — a space where Ciprian develops original compositions and selective collaborations with musicians from around the world. It represents freedom of expression across multiple musical styles rather than a single genre.

Active on the Chicago music scene since 1989, Ciprian has performed and toured venues and festivals throughout Romania and the United States. His work spans rock, metal, cinematic, orchestral, atmospheric, and instrumental music, blending organic instruments with modern production to create powerful, story-driven soundscapes.

While much of Arpegiah’s music lends itself naturally to film, television, games, and visual media, the project is not limited to cinematic formats. It also embraces standalone songs, rock- and metal-driven compositions, and genre-crossing experiments driven by emotion, rhythm, and melody.

Ciprian holds a percussion diploma from the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca and has contributed session work in major recording studios in Chicago. His independent instrumental album Fantasies is already released, and he is currently preparing the release of Dawn of Blades, a heavier, more aggressive album drawing strong influence from rock and metal.

Arpegiah is ultimately about sharing ideas — sometimes solo, sometimes collaborative — and letting the music speak without boundaries.
